Dear colleagues and friends,
The Presidium of the Ukrainian Peace Council extends sincere congratulations to you on the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development!
This day has been celebrated on the initiative of UNESCO since 2001 to underline the importance of science in promoting global peace and sustainable development.
It promotes recognition of the contribution of science to solving global problems and generates interest in scientific research.
For Ukraine, currently defending itself against external aggression, this Day can contribute to peace through the following aspects:
Technological Progress: Achievements in science should enhance the country's technological potential, encompassing defense and security systems.
International Cooperation: Ukraine's scientific community, united within the framework of World Science Day, can promote cooperation between countries by jointly seeking scientific solutions to increase international assistance to Ukraine.
Education and Understanding: Dissemination of scientific knowledge can contribute to education and deeper understanding among Ukraine’s population, which in turn will strengthen the consolidation of the nation to achieve a quick Victory.
Development of a Sustainable Economy: Science should be the driving force of Ukraine's high-tech economy, which in turn will contribute to the development of the country's military-technical complex and serve as a key factor in speeding up the Victory;
Cultural Exchange: Scientific cooperation can also expand cultural exchanges and foster mutual understanding between friendly nations, which will help strengthen international relations and increase assistance to Ukraine.
In essence, this day recognizes science and education as the reliable instruments of solving the most complex problems and blurring out contradictions between countries and nations, as well as contributes to global peace. May it help us expedite our most cherished Victory!
