UKRAINIAN PEACE COUNCIL STATEMENT
The Ukrainian Peace Council (UPC) operates under the guidance of the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Constitution of Ukraine, and Ukraine’s current legislation. UPC respects and adheres to the principles of the United Nations, international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of any state, inviolability of state borders, and equality of peoples, which is the guarantee of sustainable peace in the world. UPC fully supports the paragraphs of the UN General Assembly Resolution of February 23, 2023, on the achievement of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine, favored by 141 UN Member States, and will align its future activities with the decisions made in this Resolution.
At its conference on April 12, 2023, the UPC adopted the ‘Action Program of the Ukrainian Peace Council for the Period of Martial Law in Ukraine’. The Program reads to the effect that the Ukrainian Peace Council is based on international legal acts, the national policy of Ukraine, support of the world’s pro-Ukrainian coalition for Ukraine, the 'Ukrainian Formula for Peace' outlined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, in November 2022, which will formulate its policy aimed at achieving peace on the basis of Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.
On behalf of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Peace Council,
