About us
The Ukrainian Peace Council (UPC) is a non-governmental organization founded in September 1951 (formerly known as the Ukrainian Republican Committee for the Defense of Peace).
The organization was established on the initiative of prominent representatives of Ukraine's scientific and cultural community, including Volodymyr Komisarenko, Oleksandr Palladin, Borys Paton, Leonid Pervomaiskyi, Natan Rybak, Maksym Rylskyi, Pavlo Tychyna, Mykhailo Semenenko, Nataliia Uzhvii, and many other distinguished Ukrainian public figures.

The 3rd Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Full Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Foreign Corresponding Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Mathematics and Natural Sciences Division), Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, and Laureate of the V.M. Glushkov Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
A distinguished scientist and expert in the fields of cybernetics, systems analysis, big data analytics, and decision theory.
PRESIDIUM AND ADVISORY COUNCIL OF THE UKRAINIAN PEACE COUNCIL
The Presidium and Advisory Council of the Ukrainian Peace Council bring together distinguished public and political figures, renowned scientists, educators, cultural leaders, and highly respected professionals who are recognized both in Ukraine and internationally.
The Ukrainian Peace Council operates as an independent non-governmental organization, carrying out public-interest initiatives through its own programs approved by its Charter and international cooperation agreements.
Throughout its years of activity, the Peace Council has gained international recognition and actively participates in international symposiums, conferences, summits, and round-table discussions.
The organization regards its work as an integral part of the global peacebuilding process and remains committed to cooperation based on the principles of people-to-people diplomacy. The Ukrainian Peace Council cooperates with international partners through the United Nations, UNESCO, national peace movements, and charitable foundations.
The Peace Council contributes to the development of Ukraine's peaceful foreign policy and promotes the country's international reputation.
OUR PURPOSE
- To unite civil society in promoting peace and harmony in Ukraine and around the world.
- To strengthen the nation's spiritual unity and foster peace and patriotism among younger generations.
- To promote a culture of peaceful coexistence and non-violent conflict resolution.
OUR MISSION
We work to:
- Promote international peace, security, and mutual understanding among nations;
- Support the development of Ukrainian civil society based on respect for human rights, the Constitution of Ukraine, and internationally recognized legal principles;
- Foster a culture of peace among young people and society as a whole;
- Strengthen the spiritual unity of the Ukrainian people and promote a culture of peace in every sphere of public life.

- Organizing international and national forums, conferences, and round-table discussions dedicated to dialogue and peacebuilding;
- Supporting educational, scientific, cultural, and environmental initiatives that contribute to sustainable peace;
- Providing platforms for cooperation and exchange of experience between Ukrainian and international civil society organizations;
- Promoting peacebuilding initiatives and encouraging active public engagement in matters of peace;
- Contributing to peace and social cohesion in Ukraine;
- Supporting the constitutional principles and democratic values of the Ukrainian state;
- Enhancing Ukraine's international standing.
