Action plan and priorities

  • Development and implementation of programs that promote the establishment in Ukraine of constitutional principles and laws of a democratic, peaceful, nuclear‑free, civilized state, guaranteeing its citizens the right to live in conditions of peace, harmony, and international cooperation.
  • Active opposition to war propaganda, militaristic ideas, and attempts at national‑territorial division, while assisting in the peaceful and just resolution of conflicts based on mutual interest and the search for broadly acceptable compromises.
  • Participation in the development of various forms of public diplomacy aimed at actively seeking models of nonviolent peace, ensuring conditions for free contacts, communication, and mutual understanding between countries and peoples, representatives of civic forces, and creating positive public opinion about our state abroad.
  • Support for information efforts in promoting Ukraine’s peace‑oriented policy worldwide.

Recent Activities

In recent years, the main focus of the Ukrainian Peace Council has been identifying the most pressing problems in Ukraine’s socio‑political life, publicizing them, finding allies for implementing ideas, and assisting many civic movements, foundations, and organizations in uniting into independent structures.

For the country, vital issues include defining a new path for the independent state, understanding the new political situation in which Ukraine finds itself, and creating a national material and technical base. All of this must be addressed while prioritizing the preservation of peace and harmony in Ukraine.

Call to Society

At a time of heightened interstate, interethnic, and political contradictions, the Peace Council calls society to peace and harmony, promoting and spreading the idea of peacebuilding through peaceful actions to prevent conflicts and violence.
